Anyone use a Ball Hitch on a Power-Trac

Bryan, I measured the side of my pickup unloaded on level ground and it is 48" at the highest point(1989 1/2 ton chevy 4x4). Could you do an experiment for us? Dump a bucket over a 4' obstacle and report how much clearance you have. It would be greatly appreciated.

One thing I heard mentioned is that if you get a really big log going down hill with a small machine, can that machine stop it? I really appreciate the safety aspect of this board.

We bought 20 acres in IN. We had to put down 25% to get the normal rate, but other than that, it was a normal 25 year mortgage.

Ray, go to dealers and drive both types. Find a dirt or mulch pile and test them out. You sound like someone that maintains their equipment. You shouldn't have any troubles with either type. For the work that you've itemized, with hydro, you'll never, ever have to shift. You won't even use cruise unless field mowing. I, too have 20 acres of rolling wooded land with about a mile and a half of X country ski trails. Wish I had the pond.

Thanks for the replies. JD recomends the 413, which is 48". I have a line on a good used 60". Has anyone used one that large on the 4100? Is it too big?

Can someone please explain the differences between the auxiliary hydraulic kit and the rear hydraulic kit offered for the JD4100? I would like to be able to use the FEL and a hydraulic 3pt top link at the same time.
